The people in the book

"Contrary to what he expected, because he was a very good student in school, Alex failed his tests! To this day he does not fully understand what happened. Because of his test results, Alex could not matriculate at one of the major universities, so he was assigned to study material engineering, which mostly focuses on melding and heat treating, in a relatively small technical university in Shanghai. This somewhat less than prestigious University did not have a campus, so Alex continued to live with his parents who had moved to Shanghai in 1986. Although his parents were disappointed, they managed to hide their feelings, but Alex became very disillusioned and lost much of his interest in academic life. Ironically, Alex now points to this experience as a turning point that really served to strengthen his resolve. From then on, he knew he needed to work and fight even harder to earn a really good position."

Alex about "In China, We Trust"

First, I feel really honored to be a part of this great book! I think that Iman has well summarized my personal life and put it into a much broader social development environment.

As a member of Iman's team who has devoted enormous efforts on building up a " people care " culture during past three years, I do believe that the changes we have made had truly brought TNT China team to the best in the industry and turned around TNT's branding and market position, especially under economic ressession period.

I think that this book has comprehensively covered the cultural issues which happen in all multinational companies, and provided very practical solutions with solid evidences. It's no doubt that the concept and approaches illustrated in the book can be a good reference for all multinational companies who have big growth ambitions in China.
